Agree Rancher! What works for me here in FL probably not going to be the same for you up in snowy NY. (BTW it's been in the 80's here...)

And it's nice when you see someone on here from your area and you can hit them up for advice that is really specific for your area (like prices, feed brands, local laws, predators, etc).

Had a BYCer email me today as we live just a few miles apart and went to the same university!

So COME ON people, put your location in there!

I was just reading this morning- a thread that advised against posting your time zone. I am all for the younger set not giving out personal info, but I don't think your time zone poses a danger!

And another about snow this late in the year- almost all the posters said "It snowed here." Where the heck is "here"? Most of the people posting have some cutsey location listed. I just have state listed, I think that's indicative enough, but if I need specific help I will narrow it down.

It IS hard to help someone build a coop or run when you have no idea what their climate is like!

I don't advise posting the exact where you live but you'd have a hard time finding Rancher Hicks cuz that ain't my name. 'cept maybe the TSC but then what reason would you have to stalk me? Sure I'm a good lookin man but I ain't got no money. Seriously I suppose once you got to Syracuse you could just follow the smell of Bengay. That should get you here.

Anyhow just the basic Central this or that if you live in a place with a population of 10. Do you know how many Auburns there are in this country? No really, do you? (I don't)

Without a state how would we know your in Auburn, AL and not Auburn, NY.

I agree. I think it helps to build the local network if we know roughly where everyone is from. Not everyone here in Michigan posts on the Michigan thread. It's easier to help out others in person either in deed or item if we can help locally as well.

I agree! I am pretty specific but I figure if someone is bored enough to look me up I can always use the company. Maybe send them on their way with a few extra roos for their trouble...

Hmm, yes indeed - I've seen a lot of people around the place with strange things for their location such as 'In my house', which isn't very helpful at all. I guess everyone's gotta have their little inside jokes.
