OK TO EAT DIRT????

I put a piece of sod from my yard with my 10 day old jumbo x rocks and they are going crazy!!! They love it. I just want to make sure it is ok for them to be eating it.

Chickens are funny - mine love MUD, you can't make a puddle in the yard and they are ALL over it like a bad rash...

They'll be fine....

When we incorporated our run into our front yard we cut away slabs of grass to bury the hardware cloth. I decided just to leave it in the run. As sson as the girls were let out, they went crazy over that grass. Now when ever I am doing chores around the "farm" I grab chunks of prairie grass, roots and all and toss that in there. They love it! Sometimes they even find a bonus bug or 3 !
