Ok to give our pullets hardboiled egg as a treat?

Our baby (the human one) eats a hardboiled egg yolk every morning but because of his age he's not to have the white yet. So I gave the white to our new pullets this morning and they loved it. I chopped it up. Can I feed this to my pullets as a treat? Or will it give them a taste for eggs and turn them into "egg eaters"? Ours have not started laying yet (these eggs are from the grocery store - freerange, organic) Thanks!

ETA: the breeds are Barred Rock, Rhode Isl Red , and Black Sex Link. They are aprox 10 wks old.

Cooked egg is good for pullets. Some people worry that raw egg could make them more likely to become egg eaters.

Sure. Hard boiled eggs were one of my chickens first treats while still in the brooder.

not only is it ok to give, it's also a very nutrional treat! It's loaded with goodies! ours like it okay.. They're really rotten birds though! They prefer "sweet treats" thanks to their daddy who constantly gives them watermelon, bananas, strawberries, sweet corn, & plain yogurt! I tried to give them lettuce, spinach, and other veggies, they did'nt like it. And why would they when they know daddy will be out with all kinds of "candy"! They're as bad as a bunch of kids! I would just make sure the egg is cooked, raw egg is rumored to cause them to eat their own eggs. You could also scramble the eggs to give them some variety.

When my broodies hatch out chicks they get a plate of chopped up hard boiled eggs every day for a month. i also give hard boiled or scrambled eggs to my big kids as a treat. It's got to be the best thing for them, considering that's what sustained them as newborns.

My birds all get eggs. I either scramble them with no oil or seasoning or I hard boil them. They really love them and it is a great protein treat for them.
