i have a young pullet and today she laid her 4th egg. i had some concerns though. so i noticed she seemed really lethargic and i had a few things in mind. maybe heatstroke (weve had a really bad heatwave recently) or maybe shes egg bound but i got super worried and instantly got her a cup of chicken vitamin water. she was very responsive when i would bring in food/treats but would quickly give up after trying to eat for about 5 seconds. she took one sip of vitamin water and then eventually started having some contractions.
i saw what appeared to be egg whites come out a little when she contracted and was really worried an egg had broken inside her and then shortly after she laid a soft-shell egg. she almost immediately got most of her energy back and she came and drank a ton of the vitamin water, as well as got some food. now what concerns me is about 5 minutes later she pooped and it appeared to have egg yolk in it. like it was a healthy looking poop that seemed to have egg yolk on it. however, the egg she laid didnt break inside her. it was fully intact and i even opened it up and it had the full yolk in there. was this just an error because shes new to laying? is this something i should be overly concerned about? she's still a little bit slow overall (this happened about 20-30 minutes ago) but she'll go running when the rooster calls her over with a treat and her tail is back up in the air instead of her holding it down. any help appreciated.

Did you happen to get photos of the "yolk?"

Not unusual for new layers to have weird schedules, weird eggs, so if her behavior is fine then she's likely fine, but always good to have photos to help ID any issues.
ah i didnt get any photos but i should have. i cleaned up the poop pretty quickly because if it was something bad i didnt want the others trying to eat it. it was basically just a normal looking poop except this thick yellow liquid came out at the same time which had the exact same colour and consistency of a yolk. shes acting like her normal self today and poop is back to normal so she must have had an off day, but ill be keeping my eye on her for a little while
