Ok To Hatch?

Is it ok to put this egg in incubator to hatch? It is from my rir hen and rir roo, but it's so long. I didn't know if it might not hatch out a good chick. Or if the chick would have any problems. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

I think it would be okay, as long as it’s fertilized.

It looks like a pullet egg, how old is the mating pair?

Do you have other eggs to go in with it and a plan for all the extra boys that will hatch?

Sometimes a very long and narrow egg may make it difficult for the chick to turn to get into position. But that can also happen in a regular shaped egg if humidity is kept too high to enlarge the air cell and allows the embryo to grow to large instead.

Don't set any egg until you're ready to set them all. Then go ahead and set it if you want. It looks fine to me. I don't set eggs for at least a couple months after they have been laying as early eggs can have hiccups from the reproductive system coming on line and working out its' kinks.
