Ok to have more than one hen house in same coop?

First timer here (with all things chickens). My chicks are about 2 1/2 weeks old. Planning out the coop/yard and need some help! We have an old dog house that we will use in making a hen house- only it's just big enough for about 4 hens. We have 9. So we will need to build another house. Is it ok to have two houses in one run/yard? We will have (HOPEFULLY) one rooster. Thanks in advance for your help!

They will likely all cram into one house whether it's big enough or not.

If you already know you will be building one why not make it big enough for all the birds?

A 6x8 coop would have enough room for everyone.
