I want to suck the sour crop liquid out with a feeding tube from my chicken's crop but

Yes I've killed 2 hens..one hen died just by massaging her crop, it killed her. So that's too risky for me.
I am sorry for your loss. It is never the intention to put our dear chickens at risk, but at time that was the choice of desperation. I had taken a few of my sick hens to the avian vets and they wanted Xray, ultrasound and then told me to euthanize them to be kinder, I ended up taking home a dead chickens and a big hole in my purse.

What I have learned over the year when caring for sick chickens is that be patient with the treatment as the some condition require it.

Prayer that all will be well for your little hen❤️

Yes for some reason mine are getting various issues...living in the city seems to give them issues. They have 1/4 acre lot so not sure what is going on. I've spent a lot of money at the vet, too. $200 plus on each chicken I take in because it's $75 just to walk in the door with a chicken. And my vet is not really that good with chickens. Between me and her, and this forum, we did get the impacted crop of one chicken fixed.

I agree. My chickens seem so much less work now that I left the city. They just seem more resilient.
I've had chickens a long time...and I had maybe one that had sour crop in 31 years...granted some were taken by predators...but who knew that doves and pigeons spread diseases to chickens..I had no idea.

Yeah I’ve never had to deal with it but i swear they got more respiratory stuff in the city.

I had a vet do it for my turkey with sour crop. They first injected a small amount of saline solution through the tube, then drew it back out. It seemed helpful to "prime the pump". I believe that if you just try to suck it out with a catheter, the tube will clog. This was a two person job and I strongly recommend an experienced vet or vet tech to help you.

Thanks..did your turkey survive? And the video I watched she pushed in some water first to the crop but that didn't seem to help her. She had a vacuum issue somewhere.

Yes, the turkey survived. She had an infection, which caused her crop to slow down, and the crop stasis prevented oral antibiotics from being absorbed into her system. Clearing out her crop fixed the problem 100%. If the vet hadn't flushed out her crop, she certainly would have died.
