I am sorry for your loss. It is never the intention to put our dear chickens at risk, but at time that was the choice of desperation. I had taken a few of my sick hens to the avian vets and they wanted Xray, ultrasound and then told me to euthanize them to be kinder, I ended up taking home a dead chickens and a big hole in my purse.Yes I've killed 2 hens..one hen died just by massaging her crop, it killed her. So that's too risky for me.
What I have learned over the year when caring for sick chickens is that be patient with the treatment as the some condition require it.
