I have 4 cats and A LOT of empty plastic 20 pound cat litter containers. I was thinking about storing chicken feed in them. Is it ok to empty all of the litter out and put feed in? Do they need to be disinfected first? Thanks

at least wash them first. If it's scented litter it might make the food taste funny. (can chickens even taste their food?)

They make great nesting boxes! Just cut off the larger part of the lid. I use them in some of my portable breeder pens.

I also use them to store grint and oyster shell in.

I use them but I always make sure there is no kitty litter smell in them. I fill them with hot water and 1/4 cup bleach wash and rinse good and air dry. They are so good for so many things
