my dad dubbed ours "The Happiness Hotel" from the Great Muppet Caper.... the line from the song runs through my head.... "if you don;t mind friendly animals and can learn to stand the smell, well welcome home to the happiness hotel...."

Right now I call it all the chicken Shanty-town until I deal with the mess on the back of the pen and the top (awaiting the Chicken Pavillion, a covered attachment to the coop). Then I am promising a Chicken Shangri-La but I don't have a name chosen yet. Since I have ducks, turkeys and geese too, I want to be inclusive and I look at the whole thing as more of a compound than a house (Kenneduckport anyone?).

Since everyone says to me "Wow, you've got a farm going there now" (it's only 1 1/2 acre and all my animals are pets) I'm thinking I need a name for the whole property. Maybe "Birdland" like the New York City jazz club, harkening back to my city roots.

I do have one duck house in the pen that I made as a brooder and it's called the Quack House also.

I sometimes refer to the group as the Few Clucks Clan, or harkening to earlier days, the Two Ducks Klan. I call my new kayak the Mother Ducker and painted some of my ducks on it. I painted duck feet on the bottom too so people can see them when I flip but they'll probably get all scraped off because of the rocky stuff I paddle.
