Just trying to understand the moulting. What is it? Does that mean lots of feather loss? When does it happen? And do they grow back?

Thanks!

Yes it makes a chicken look rough they start losing alot of feathers and it is different for where you live and type of chicken. They will start growing back but you wont get the pretty shine back for a couple of months hope this helps

Hey there and thanks. Zaxby is my frizzled rooster and he must be going through a moult cause man...... when you pick him up you just feel all the like quills. You can tell there are many missing feathers and no other roos around to fight with so.... must be the moult.

They look like this!

I went away for a couple of days and thought my SS, Sissy, had morphed into a hedgehog. She was bald with nubs.

I have a frizzle cochin bantam who is just getting her feathers back she was just about bald but mostly on her head now she looks like she has a little cap on. And she does stick me when I pick her up like a little hedge hog lol
