I don't show chickens or anything just raise them as pets and eat the eggs.. I have a full grown straight feathered batam chochin hen that her mom was a frizzle. And a regular rir roo...? Anyone come across this before? if so you have any pics? The Cochin was thrown in with the big hens just cause the owner didn't want her. Then she got broody. And I let her do her thing, since her eggs where too small anyways...lol.. Just candled all 5 eggs after 3 weeks and all five are kicking around...lol.. So was wondering to see if anyone has done this breed before?
Thanks,Waylon

I have mixes of RIRs and bantam cochins because I have a very precocious red cochin roo. The last batch of supposed Black Star sexlinks I hatched out were Black Stars, alright ... with feathered legs and teeny tiny bodies! (Well, they're not quite a small as Lil' Red, but they aren't the nice, big dual purpose birds I meant to breed!) What color is your hen? If she's silver based or barred, you'll get red or gold dwarf sexlinks; whatever color, the chicks will be somewhere between the two sizes with a fairly cobby body ... some of mine are closer to the roo, others a bit bigger ... and the legs will be feathered but not as feathered as a cochin. Try out the chicken calculator if you want to know more about colors.
