Ok, where do those super moms get the time and energy

Yea for you....

And don't forget start that crockpot...... Also on the crockpot cook a different meal in it that you can freeze to help you get ahead. When you are cooking something else on the stove. I will cook two meals at once then I can freeze for another day.

No one can do it all, give yourself a break! The best you can do is good enough!! You need down time too, if it means a mothers helper one day a week, go for it. You can plan something for yourself when she is there. A movie, read a book, go to the mall and walk around or just soak in the tub! I was a single mom so I know how it is. You also need a date night with the hubby! Plan one thing to get done each day, clean one room, laundry or whatever, the rest can wait so you don't get overwelmed. I spend one day cooking meals for the week that you can freeze, and don't forget about a crock pot...love them. Super moms are probably very unhappy don't let em fool ya!! Jackie

We are having my first ever crockpot meal tonight. I have kept stuff warm in one but never actually cooked the whole meal. I put it on this morning then managed laundry, cleaning, errands, and cleaning out the goat bedding. I just came in and its almost done. That was easy.

Oh and after dinner I am putting in a pork roast and its going to be pulled pork sandwiches. I should barely have to cook this week. I already have the meat ready for this and precut veggies but making a massive load of egg rolls for dinner tomorrow. The left overs will provide something to eat for the kids and hubby for Mad Monday. My new name for Monday because it really is the only day of the week where I am so overloaded I physically cannot make it everywhere we have to go on my own. My dad said he would do boy scouts duty. Board of Review Monday and he cannot be late. I will be late though.

Good for you Heather......Way to go!!! You might like the crockpot so much, that you just might have to get another one. Wahoo, 2 meals cooked at a time. Just remember to take a breath for yourself now and then.... BTW, potroast is great in one. Dry beans, soak and prep the night before, then start the next am for that nights meal. Beans and ham are a favorite at my house, then just make cornbread to go with it. Cornbread can be a pan(baked) or fried (like pancakes). Maye Ride the Glide......Got Gait......I Do....

Just wanted to let you know about a great crockpot cookbook I just found...it's on mamaandbabylove.com and I love it so far. You prepare the ingredients and put them in freezer bags (most recipes make two meals) then just put them in the freezer until you are ready to cook. Then you just take the bag out of the freezer, dump it in the crockpot, and a few hours later dinner is done. It's made my life so much easier. I usually take a day to prepare them, and I make a month's worth at a time. I have two crockpots so I don't have to scrub the same one every night.

I am by no means a supermom, but I had to become good at streamlining things when I started developing fibromyalgia. The crockpot is the way to go for sure. And I agree that the kids' activity days are good times to multitask. Maybe keep a simple log of the things you do each week, then look to see where you can improve. You can do it, I know you can.

Good luck!

Look up once a month mom on facebook..
She has a schedule where she makes several recipes once a month and freezes them for easy weeknight dinners.

Ok we are loving the crockpot. Even my parents and they are pretty dang hard to please. My dad is a bit sporadic in his eating and having a stew warming in the crock today was perfect. No trying to work around his non schedule. My husband said it was great having me around and not locked in the kitchen. Usually I spend at least 2 hours a day in the kitchen. Usually more.
