Sounds cool! I'll talk to the teacher tomorrow. We were thinking half a dozen since we're not 100% sure of where they'll go once hatched. We know they'll go somewhere but I'm not sure who's she's talked to and I am rapidly filling up my unfinished coop with growing chicks and stray dominiques!!
Well I can always take them back once they hatch, so no problem there either
I'll let you know the beginning of the week. Apparently she promised one of the 6th graders we'd hatch his eggs. I've told her I'm not necessarily taking anything home so he'd have to take them back. Unfortunately he went home early today before I had a chance to talk to him or his parents. We could certainly hatch some of his and some of yours if he can coordinate get them here at the same time. His will be mixes as well.

Okay no problem, if you do need eggs you can come pick them up or we can meet at salem. And if he didn't want his chicks back I could always take a few of his too

OMG, you are soooooo bad!!
I know, I know, but it's an addiction
But seriously if he doesn't want them back they have a home at my house
Good to know. I'm not sure I'm in the mood to do this project. The kid with the eggs has been very annoying lately and my own student has as well and I just don't feel like putting any effort in to it. Once eggs are in the bator I know I'll change my mind. They cut the budget which meanst the additional aide position they had added (mine) was cut. Unless someone resigns I'm out of a job at the end of June. I was only hired for the year but the principal tried to get them to add this position permanently. No go in this economy.

I'm so sorry to hear that kristin! I hope you get to keep your job. But if you do change your mind and need the eggs just let me know. And if you want some of those duck eggs for baking too, we have about 3 or 4 cartons full of them

Thanks. The position I have now is with a student who will go up to the jr/sr high school next year so I knew going in it would probably only be for the year. Got my hopes up when they said they'd try to get an extra aide position in for next year. Didn't work so I'll wait and see what happens. Luckily I can always sub. I prefer the consistency of going in every day though.
I'll talk to the student with the eggs on Monday, see if he can get me some around the same time you can and try hatching some of each I think. As long as I know they have a home if they're roos I'll get into the project as soon as I've got the eggs.
