Okay - is this a boy or a girl, or both?

I am going to try to post an image of a couple of my chickens. I was supposed to have all hens, but I think I may have a roo. They are Buff Orpingtons, about 18 weeks old.

This is what my "boy" looks like. I am trying to get a better pick, but they aren't too cooperative, as you all know - lol! And it's pouring out here :-(

If they are 18 weeks you might have a hen getting close to laying if it's not crowing yet. But yea, pic would help.

Is it common for birds that are all supposedly from the same batch to develop so differently?

I think your suspected roo is going to be laying any day.

They all mature at different rates, nothing out of the normal. Your other girls will probably catch up soon.
