1. I think she's too young... 5 1/2 mo old.
2. She rolls her egg and the pingpong ball under her, lays there on them for about an hour, then leaves. Not enough patience or too hot.
3. I read Anconas aren't the broody type but she has also made liars out of them on other things Anconas aren't supposed to do.
This all started after I placed a pingpong ball in 4 of the ten nestboxes to encourage a couple of my older pullets(5-6months old) to lay, or at least let them know where. She has done this with the last 3 eggs she has laid. By the way, these birds are awesome layers, almost daily.
