Okay, so the new girls started laying and it's only January! They are going to be producers people!

Whether they are laying machines or taking a break, it is a force of nature, genetics, nutrition, age and whether near one solstice or the other.

There is one barred plymouth rock, one salmon faverolle, the rest are various layers in a bunch of chickens from Meyer Hatchery, it was 'production pullets' or something like that with various colors so I think they are mixed breeds.

Stow the fairy tales for someone who believes them. Mine was strictly a chickens related answer. Your chickens have only so many eggs to lay over their lifetime. They are machines now, but it won’t last forever. In a couple of years it’s going to slow down.
Well, I was just replying to the Solhen. quote, that there is evil in all of our hearts. Are we putting quotes onto our posts or is the BackYard Chickens website adding random quotes? Why are we getting quotes on posts that aren't related to chickens?

yeah, you lost me. Making a post about enjoying the bounty of eggs you’re getting while it lasts into some sort of weird religious reference is ridiculous.
