Sorry for all the questions....I should probably just ask them all at once, but I read a thread and think of another one.

Anyway....roosting. How high are your night time roosting posts supposed to be. I have a large branch from a tree up fairly high...they have to fly to get to it....a couple of 2x4's that are up fairly high and another that is about thigh high to me (I'm 5'9"). Now I just saw a picture of the roosts being very low to the ground. Should I change mine to lower down?

I know these are silly questions....everyone in the flock seems to be happy and healthy, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep them that way...or make things easier for them. I thought the point of having them higher up was that it was harder for predators to get them (not that the predators can get in there at night), but maybe a safety feeling for the chickens.

Okay, think I'm done for now.

If they are using the roosts then they are not too high. Ours is about chest high, but it is above the nesting boxes. We have different height roosts all over the coop too.

Thank you!!! I think I'm okay then.

Appreciate all your help.
