Hello, i'm new to chickens but i've tried to do my research. We want egg layers but we also want them very friendly. I was planning on picking some chicks up tomorrow but I can't decide on which breed it's between Buff Orphington(?) or a barred rock any input would be greatly appreciated!I've got two little ones and i'm wanting a tamer cuddly chicken if there is such a thing. Also i've heard they're dusty does anyone know of any tricks for that. Thank You!

Hello fellow Okie and

There is a very active okie thread you should check it out. I am from Henryetta and have EE's. We just got our first ever chickens in Sept so we are new too. Got out first green egg a couple of weeks ago!!!

Get a few EEs. Anything else you like will probably lay eggs and satisfy the addiction for a while, then you'll want more and different kinds of birds. I don't think there is a cure, short of death either. Yes, chickens are kinda dusty. I don't recommend keeping them in the house.
