Hey silkiechick236 - where in Oklahoma are you? I'd like to put a place with your screen name on the Okie Roll Call page.

some schools are already talking about cancelling tomorrow. We cancelled our jr. high game tonight and moved the high school up to 4:30...they are talking really super cold and lots of blowing with a little snow. I think it has more to do with the super cold blowing part. Infact the high for today was this morning...lows with windchills are going to be like -20's...sure hope my boys have fun feeding...

What I like is when I can look in that window and see as they come out and dry, then I begin to ID them. These WLR's chicks Are a briliant silver white so the bold feather lacing will be promanant and good bright defined lacing on the breast. Not a blurry rush of red and stained white, like you'll find in the jubilee variety. It is still a little early for me to inspect to see if I have some pearl eye's in this bunch but my guess yeah, Plenty. As they go in the brooder tomorrow they will be vent sexed and tagged as such.

That second pic looks like a muscle man in a competition when they do the pose turing around and showing off the muscles in their backs and shoulders.

I am hoping he is my new replacement for the Hulk#1, he is in my current Avatar.

Hi Okies,

I'm happy to be back. I haven't been able to read this forum since Tuesday of last week, so I feel like I have lost a lot. Things got so crazy...getting shut down, freezing up etc. I just gave up and quit trying. Glad we are rolling again.

ok, we are ready! Bring it on! banties moved to the old coop, so no walking out on the ice- its on the porch, big flock out for the only free range they'll get for a bit, guineas raising a ruckus, generator works, extra people food and animal feed- we are about as ready as we can- all the techy gadgets are charged....spare water set- going out to pepper the feed- only ones i am a bit concerned with is the ducks- should i put more shavings in there too?

Robin : Don't mess with the ducks, they will be plenty warm and may even welcome that cold snap. If you make them all warm it kind of screws up their body temp regulator and makes it harder for them to handle the cold as they should. Colder weather promotes their down feather growth and that's all they need to stay warm even outside in fridgid temps.

If you are like me, the heated waterers will show up about May or June, and you will think "oh yeah" now I remember why I stored them there."
