*** OKIES in the BYC ***

Here is an update on the eggs that were in the incubator I took to the school.
I had two hatches in there about a week apart.
Out of 66 eggs, 57 hatched!
I am pleased that I didn't mess up the hatch by moving the bator.

you can keep them going for a bit, but have to limit their food intake and make sure they get out and moving, they are bred to put on weight fast, and from what i have heard you are lucky if they last past 4 months- their hearts can't handle the strain- we have one named tatortot, and am hoping she will have a happy life- sadly it will be short- look up a member named gritstar- she has managed to keep hers up through laying

Actually I think that it is the Hubbard line of meaties that are owned by a pharmacutical company so they must be pretty good layers. They probably use them to produce vaccine. The other main meatie breed is the Cobb.

OkLighting DW said they hunkered down in thebathroom for a while,had one coming from Leach area and one coming down hyw59,both missed them. They are by the ball field in Kansas. Sister in Siloam Springs said they went north of them. Glad you all are safe.
Did you get them all herded in Donnie!lol
