I am definately wanting perenial. Something that is good in a lot of sun and that can provide shade for the chickens as well as be safe if they should decide to peck at it after it grows. Also....do not have a green thumb....I need something that is LOWWWWWWWW maintenance.

Honeysuckle it is...once it's in the ground..water a few times a year and watch it go! I love the smell of the blossoms and it grows quickly once established.
For shade in the meantime, I got some of those shade cloths for dog runs at atwoods and used pieces of wire to tie it to the top of our run. It has lasted two years so far. The run is located on the south side of the barn.

Well, I am finally caught up - realized I skipped some posts and had to go back and look at flower photos! Man, I am so glad my house is on a hill - things are very wet, but nothing like some of your yards. I hope no one suffers long-term damage to person or property because of the floods.

Did you guys hear that the caught a young female mountain lion in North Tulsa Saturday night? Yes, really!

I accompanied my boyfriend Jack to Easter dinner at his sister's house Sunday evening. They had pork, turkey and lamb. I thought I was funny and said I'd heard it was a "holy lamb that was slain" for the meal. No one else but Jack and the Catholic Priest (member of the family) seemed to get it, so I changed my line to "worthy is the lamb." Honestly, lamb wasn't part of the menu when I was growing up so it's still somewhat of a novelty to me.
