Sorry Doc I didn't take my camera with me. They were huge tall geese and had the canadine markings but the colors were off. They do check occasionaly for npip on out of state birds but not instate. I have been lucky so far and they don't check bantams! But it really worries me when they sell the wild birds. If the game dept ever hears about it ,its all over! You would think they would know better.

We keep all our permits and records up mostly because of our occasional trips to Oklahoma and if you get caught coming in or out without permit it won't be good so we like to not worry and just carry all our documents whenever we leave the house. The fish and game permit is the most important I believe since they can take your vehicle trailer and everything in them if you don't have your breeder permit, at least in Texas.

Well the thunder and lighting have started. Guess I will go watch the tv reports. Thats all thats on the local networks now. They do a good job of informing people here I will say that. Everyone stay safe and dry tonight!

Just saw that you are in NV. Well, I really don't need goats. We don't have anywhere to keep them (that didn't stop us with chickens) and I hear that they tear things up, I don't particularly like any milk, but my hubby loves goat milk. If they are dwarf does that mean they keep that cute baby look?

how much do they normally run- i am thinking it would be great to have them! i am googling them now

yeah...sigh...put that one on the back burner! they are cute though!

Ours are not that expensive but they aren't registered either. My wife gets $150 and up for the doelings and bucklings, $50 for wethers. Maybe it would be worth the trip!

I don't know about keeping that cute baby look but they don't get very big and because of that they aren't as hard on things except trees and such. You can see some of the mommas in the pics.

Our wild Canadian pair has come up the past three days together for their grain. Lucy and Goosey usually have between 4 and 6 goslings each year for the past 9 years.
I know their nest has to be destroyed by the heavy rain and low level ponds that are now full. The wood ducks lost their nest too.

I wonder if they will be able to make another nest and raise young this year. Anyone know if it is possible.

ke_ben, I think all goats are cute, even the average size full grown adults. (but have never met a nice billy). I love their eyes, so intelligent and curious about everything. We raised ours by hand (bottle) so they were extremely tame almost pets that didn't get to come in the house, well except for peanut who was a runt born in an ice storm, he came in the house for several weeks, thought he was a dog. He even got to ride in the truck to the lumber store regularly, the guys there loved it when he came w/ my gpa.

If I ever get to move out of town, I will have goats again.
