You may be in the lucky 20% of the population that is not sensitive to the oils in the plant family. I learned a lot about it from the Dr.'s the last real bad case I had of it, which almost landed me a stay in the hospital, only reason it didn't was I wouldn't go b/c I didn't have insurance.

I am really super lucky..i don't react to bug bites...my wife and oldest boy swell up like you have beat them for a couple hours..I only know that because we performed a scientific study...well...that is what we are callng it officially

I just got my little bro to go pick me up some bantam specials from ideal! I is sneaky!

yep both dave and my bones are better forcasters than the weather guys!

our wild birds here have us all figured out and know they'll never go hungry if we can help it- they will come look in the window if the feeder is empty!

I boarded up my garage because of the last blizzard and I had so many birds in it and there was poop on everything and smell...and I think that is part of the issues I have had with chicks...but we put out some grain as well for the wild ones...just have to remind the boys to hold off on the firepower!

Good job Deena! You got a good deal on them - I'm happy you found them - now is the fun time when you sit next to the brooder for the next few weeks watching them all run around and grow. I'm glad you got Barred Rocks, too - they are nice birds and usually have fun personalities, and they will lay very well for you.

Thank you. We only paid $5 for the barred rock girlies. He was out in inola, but worth the drive. His coop was way too small for what he had, but he had a huge variety. The chickies hatched out of mint green eggs, so that should be fun for our egg collection.

I am excited. This fall we will be getting so many more eggs!!

Maybe you could come sex them for me when they get older?

I would love to come meet you and your family, and to do my best to give you some idea of the sex of your chicks!

check it out! The ladies are hanging with Teach

Maybe he will keep them long enough that they will not be so obviously a younger group when you put them in the barn? Was that one "special" or multiples?

It is a good thing I don't live close enough to a hatchery that I could drive over to see what extras were available.
