I try to give mine at leaste a good drink and then take the water away, it will just freeze any ways, They seem to do fine as long as it is not but a day or two, my egg production sometimes drops because of it I am sure but that is ok too as sometimes the eggs freeze any ways.

Carah!!!! That is not nice to tease and not share!!!! LOL

I don't know, but we'll probably find out today...

Don't work too hard Monty - check in later!

I don't know either but I am hoping that there will be enough water for mine to last until this crazy wind stops blowing. So glad I spent the time adding more hay & filling all the water's yesterday when I got home!

***side note, I just finished baking 4 loafs of bread! It turned out great, having warm bread with butter is the best!

Al come back & let us know you didn't blow away or freeze adding a new post to the line.

on a coldday my girls don't dring much but if you did not water your chickens( lets hope we all water them) they would eat the ice/snow

I watered them but I am sure it is frozen. They are inside, out of the wind and have lots of straw. THey also have feed but i will go refill this afternoon.

Hey was lookin at eFowl.com online! Has anyone ordered chicks or eggs from them? They seem to have a nice selection, located in Minnasota I think! Lynn

Yes, but no one was in the area so no one was hurt. The weight broke gas lines, which started the sprinkler system, so people saw water rushing through the ceiling before it collapsed and were able to evacuate the area in plenty of time.

Well I found the problem but nothing me or anybody else can do about it. The lines in the house are fine and the pasture tap that I repaired last week at the coop is running just fine, so the main line coming to the house somehow froze. I only have to walk about 150yrds to the coop. I made 3 trips with 5 gal containers and that was all I could take at one time, my face almost froze off, this wind is killer. I now have enough water to drink, cook and wash with maybe 30 gal so far, I won't go back out there for a few hours. My neighbors are all sick and can't leave the house to get any Medicine so I am going to walk over with some and some chicken soup for them and some medicine that I have.

AL
