If she will lay lots of eggs, I will try one! I have to admit, there are some beautiful game hens out there.

Here is one of our first hens waiting patiently for me to get the coop finished, when i took it, the coop looked like this:

you can see the trap door, were they hopped down to the ramp that led to the run.
didn't know we were gonna get beyond 10 chickens at the time.

Ok, from the few posts made, I for the life of me CANNOT figure out where the birds are comin from, and who they are supposed to go to, seems like there are at least 4 different people involved??? So are there birds that need a ride from durant to OKC or not?

GotGame - the birds need a ride from GracefulBantams in Durant to Poultryand Bees in OKC. Smfamf is the final owner and will pick them up from Poultryand bees.

Thank you for clearing that up. I live between Wellston and Harrah on 102, I will be going to the okla/texas border saturday morning, and I could swing over to durant and pick up the birds and bring back with me if it would help. I however would need to know asap if I need to do it, so I can make plans and figure out the times, etc....

Kinda reminds me of the tv s how "My Big Redneck Wedding" when they had the stuffed squirrels dressed as Bride and Groom on the wedding Cake.

They are seasonal, starting late winter & ending late summer. Sometimes they may lay a few in the fall. They tend to lay every other day until they lay about a dozen and then skip a week and start over.

Welcome Karen,
You are from my home area. I am from the Okmulgee/Henryetta area and have lots of old friends all over that area. Hope you have a good time in our group.
NN (Turken) hens are solid gold right now. Good luck finding some.
You should be able to find a rooster without any trouble.

There is a very good feed store in Sapulpa just off the turnpike.
I used to commute to Tulsa and i bought feed there many times. Its called Farmer's Feed.
I haven't been there in years but it is family owned and has been around forever.
