Hey,

I'm doing much better. Well, I was, until Monty started talking about double fried onion cheeseburgers. Now I'm starving.

Yeah, it looks like we'll make it to the gathering. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Got all the burning done today... Spent some time with my chickens and ducks... Now to get something started for supper... Kiddos think they worked up an appetite today...
Got chocolate cake and Chocolate Ice Cream for dessert already made!

Sorry Stimp, I am not supposed to be eating them but I still like to dream!

Thanks everyone, glad the coon didn't get any also!

Monty, I saw the coon.

P&B, I have even witnessed a possum in a tree reach to try and grab a chicken roosting on a branch. I really don't know why they go to such extremes. It's not like there isn't plenty of their natural prey in the surrounding woods.

MM, hope the hawks stayed away today!

All my White fluffy birds are sold now and anything else that might be eye candy is in covered runs the dark cornish are patrolling one side of the yard, and the black aussies the other half I am guessing no hawk wants to fly down into a flock of crows so been pretty peaceful around here. Did I mention i like to paint my face. tie straw to my back and army crawl threw the yard like rambo. LOL just jokeing all and all we had a really nice day.

If you were burning outdoors today, make sure you wet it down really, really well. Tomorrow is going to be very windy and high fire danger, especially in SW Oklahoma. I've known too many people that have started awful wildfires after not making sure their burn piles or burn barrels were completely out and then the wind picked up ... some of them experienced property loss and neighbors filed insurance claims against them.

One instance was several years ago when some homeowners decided to burn brush in the middle of winter and all was well until a few days later when the wind picked up ... and some embers under the ashes were fanned .... and a big grass fire resulted. Luckily the fire was put out before it consumed any homes or hurt anyone except a firefighter that was injured during the fire.

Wildfires scares me

I sure hope I don't have one on my property with all the critters we have.
