donnie -just whent back out the girls are laying and the broody is keeping them from frezzing as long as i go cheach them often it works greate for me but not so grate for the broody

All the girls are doing well, even silly little chantilly who got left out the first night of the snowpocolypse. Not one has set toe nail or beak one centimeter in to the snow, or even out of the coop for that matter.

Can't say as I blame them. I think I just have one laying and she has gone on strike for the last two days.

The coffee can water warmer is awesome, thanks Sooner, no frozen water at all!!!!!! (even though we did take poetic liscense changing it to a coffe can)

I'm late checking in today - I put another bale of straw in the run - on top of the one I put in yesterday morning that was quickly covered by the snow. The girls were hesitant at first, but they soon ventured out into the cold sunshine. The bottom of the pop door is about 24" off the ground. The waterers are also raised and the snow is well over the drinking trough of the waterer in the run. There is a heated pet bowl of fresh water inside the coop for the ladies to drink from.

Then I worked on the front walk - in case the mail carrier ever comes again, which looks unlikely at least for a while...

Titus supervised my work from the cover of the front porch.

Now I'm tired.

Hope everyone gets threw this weather and everyones birds are safe. if I don't talk to you guys for a bit maybe I will see you at an Upcoming auction. I got alot of events going in my life. None that are bad Just alot of new birds coming in and alot of new projects. Not to mention we start building our 10 acre farm at the end of the month. Hope everyone has a good day and stays warm. I will pop in from time to time when I can.

Today is canceled due to snow and sinus congestion. No housework allowed. Hot chocolate is prescribed along with at least two hours of old black-and-white movies.
