This thread moves so much, as Buster indicated you missed Jerry's post about no Blanchard auction on the 26th. I also posted it on the Okie auction thread that Grace maintains (maybe we should all subscribe to that thread?
)
The Spring Conference for the Oklahoma Beekeepers will be all day Saturday the 26th at the Stephens County fairgrounds in Duncan, Ok. Maybe you could come down for part of that experience.
We will have speakers beginning at 9:00, a pot luck lunch and finish about 4:30.
Sorry, that I didn't make the connection earlier this week when you were talking about coming to OKC and going to Blanchard.
Peacocks purchased at Fletcher last night are being temporarily housed in large dog crates (large enough to hold a small calf) until Dean can set some more poles and weld cattle panels to them for additional peacock pens. On the way to Trivetts restaurant after the Fletcher auction last night, he asked me if I had bought those for someone else or if they were staying with us - and if so, whether they would need different pens
Sure am glad he is a good sport
Jaxon's miniature house bird that he bought from Michael after the auction - has been identified as a male finch - so henceforth it will be known as "midnight."

Actually, so did I.
I saw a casual mention of no auction on the second Saturday, panicked and thought it was for always, asked for clarification, and when there was no response for several days Jerry was kind enough to PM me.
The thread does indeed move fast and I figure folks in the know just missed my question.

Duncan is South of Chickasha. I get off the turnpike at Chickasha and then go South by Rush Springs, Marlow and then all the way through Duncan to the Fairgrounds on the South side of town.
The beekeeper mtg is free to the public.

I sure hope Teach made it home safely from the Fletcher auction. He had a very long drive ahead of him last night and I know he'd done a lot of critter trading on his trip.
Maribeth, why aren't you already at Mary's this morning? I talked Gerald into taking me there, and we're just about a mile away now ... almost there! Oh, and I'm seriously thinking about those peacocks you bought.
Once again, I'd like to brag on the Fletcher auction. It was the best we've ever attended!

That is the nice thing (or dangerous thing) about not planning on breeding. We don't really have to have a specific breed. So we can't seem to pass up chicks. We also have a guy that will take any extras for us and he is a good guy. Sooooooo. But I THINK we are done now. We would have to build a whole other coop if we get more.
