I want to try the pound cake recipe that AL posted - it uses 10 eggs.

There is also one in the recipe section that they make in a mini muffin tin that they freeze & use as breakfast on the go, if you are interested I will see if I can find it.

breakfast on the go is always a good thing - particularly if it can be made ahead of time.

Hum, that requires that I count & I can't do that because then when I am asked by my DH I would have to tell

. I would guess that I have around 15 to 20 in the laying flock & maybe 20-30 in the other pens, I'm sure there could be more than that out there but like I said I am not counting.

LOL. I know that Lil'Sooner has 20 show chickens that I can't get in trouble for! hahahaha.

Sounds like your hens are doing well. I am only getting about 2 dozen eggs per day from about 50-60 hens of laying age. About the first week in April, I intend to cull those that are not laying, since it costs as much to feed a non-producing chicken as it does a producing chicken.

I do the same thing - get a vague look on my face when someone asks me how many of any kind of poultry I have. I do know the numbers on pheasants, peacocks, guineas and Muscovy ducks. Beyond that, I have to guess

People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap

It is an annual get together when we put name and faces together, eat, visit, swap poultry, eat, have an auction to raise money for the expenses of the event, eat . . .

I understand had to get rid of some older hens last year.

Yes I also have to do that when he asks me how often I got to the feed store & how many bags I get. LOL.
