Well when i first planned it i was just going to build a single pen for some laying hens but NOW that i have found this site and talked and listened to most of you i might want to change things so i can seperate and breed to raise pure bred types ... never have done that so dont know exactly how big and the best way to go about it.

I wish I could be more help but it really will depend on the number you will have per pen & what kind of supplies you are working with. My dream would be one long three sided metal shelter, say 21' long, 6' deep, 7' tall, devided at 3' sections with 2x4 framing & chicken wire with the old time wooden screen doors for each. Nest boxes & roost in the back with hanging water & feeder.

thank goodness! No I would never count per head that is bad chicken math...actually you see i never count! That would self destructive behavior because then I would know and would have to lie and it is wrong to tell lies...I know this because i tried it once on my mom and when i came to she hit me again!

SONNER that would be way to small you need about 10 that are about 100 ft long and have about ten pin each then you would have barly enof room

Had a chance to go over my evaluation today. It's good, so I'm happy. The few extra minutes of silly stuff with the hose brought the class to 100% participation. Brownie points are always nice in one's permanent record. Yes. Teachers have a permanent record, just like the permanent record students used to be threatened with.

Speaking of permanent records, our youngest granddaughter turns two on Sunday. What does one get for a girl who likes Monkey Dorey [Dora the Explorer] but already has all the foo-foo that goes with the show?

Sooner is Larry! wears the same outfit...

I think I am mor elike Engval...

I think Monty has a dog that eats...well...you know what it eats

I have a barn thats about 7ft tall its 16ft wide and 20ft long its divided into four seperate stalls now with a hall down them middle with a door at each end of the hall. I used it for show hogs for the kids when they showed . So i can change the inside about anyway i want .

We knew you would do great!

We did our evaluations a little diffrent this year...okay...way different...superintendent came in..same guy as the principal...sits down in front of the class and asks them about us. Kids got to fill it in...he is alot like me and considers most things to be expected and sees it hard to get excellents...my kids went to bat for me on several areas! told him that was an excelent so there! Still need to work on my closure of class...that stupid bell goes off too soon sometimes and I tend to get distrracted and...yeah...I do great starting! stupid endings...

Oh...on the grand-daughter thing...I say CHICKENS!!!!

I suggested chickens to our daughter, but she thinks they are stinky and should only be allowed in the house if they are breaded and frozen.
