BYC - some of the best, clean jokes I have heard in a long time!
Over on the Hatching Eggs thread someone is trying to decide just how much he likes his wife because he wants to bid $235.00 on a dozen New Hampshire eggs! What a tough choice - They are VERY nice birds. If I was going to buy them I'd drive to MO to get them rather than trust the Post Office.

yes they are nice birds , i believe kathy got her new hamps from doug akers

Yes, and he got them from Germany. New hampshires were some of the American breeds sent there after WWII as part of the reconstruction. It is very interesting to me to learn about the history of a breed's developement. I have always liked history in anything; Art, animals, plants. I have a cookbook that traces the history of the hot pepper. Hot peppers have only been in Asian cooking for a couple of hundred years, all originated in Central America and taken to Europe then east after the explorers found "America" while looking for India.

I am related to those early explorers...went to a bar looking for a fling...ended up married...went looking for pigeons and ended up with chickens...went looking for a buck and shot
