Jaxon is already asking when we are going to see all the birds and Austin and Roy (aka "Bubba"), and Clayton, and . . .

He is going to have $$$ burning holes in his pocket, so if all the adults who like to "enable" the youth would please only hand him blue birds with no feathers on their legs to hold at POOPS, I will appreciate it.

edited because I realized that "cool birds" to me are not necessarily the same thing to those who would "enable"

We have been thru Whitewright many times. My DH's Mom lives in Campbell, best friend lives in Commerce and cousin lives in Leonard.

My oldest brother and sister-in-law live in Krum. We get down there usually at least once a year. Bet you know where that is!

Vashi and I plan to be there. Was a bit surprised that he readiy agreed to go. I knew he enjoyed it, but wasn't sure he'd want a repeat! Says it will be his vacation for this year.

You can always go the AI route.

Everyone has there own beliefs in how to raise chickens this is my honest opinion. When you have to fondle a breed to produce offspring your definatly getting to far away from the way it should be, If a bird cant produce off spring without AI then are we not breeding away from what it should be. I know alot of breeders take methods of AI and then I know some who disagree with it. this wasnt a problem for him before when he was a young cockerel perhaps a diet is all he needs. He is just a mini tank split at the breast as he should be. and also this is why most serious breeders as I have found on the cornish club chose to replace there roosters with young cockerels.

Very much enjoyed Trisha and Mylie's visit Friday. I think darling young mylie is already a "chicken whisperer."

Hope that bad, bad weather isn't getting too close to you--looks scary. Hope you'll check in after awhile when you can.

Monty - Put me down as four. Victoria, MIL, FIL, and me. We saw everyone today at DGD's birthday party, and MIL said they want to attend POOPS this year. They've been hearing Victoria rave about it for two years, so now they want to see it for themselves. I need to download pictures so I can show off DGD holding a few EE babies. I know DD was anxious when I put the fluffy butts into the hands of her child, but at two years old this DGD is as gentle as can be. I can't say she treated her wind-up hopping chicken (stuffed in her new boots, hidden under the rug, aimed at the edge of the table on purpose a few times) with as much care, but it proves she can tell the difference between a live animal and a toy.
