Did anyone else have a thunder storm last night? Poor Vesta thought monsters were taking over the pasture. She barked at the lightning and howled at the thunder. I sat with her for a few minutes and did my best not to jump when the lightning cracked. I went back inside when she was brave enough to go back into her house alone.
Lynn - The Toppy roo is doing great. I've held him twice a day every day, at feed and water time, and now he's acting like it's an annoyance rather than a reason to throw a tantrum. He's calmer in a football carry, facing behind me. The BLRW roosters in the pen across the way keep dancing at him, but he's ignoring their lame displays. He knows he's the king. He doesn't need to prove it.
Frozen, or what I thought were frozen eggs, are hatching today. Two pipped and zipped this morning, so I was almost late for work. I can never get enough of watching the little ones fight their way out. I didn't see pipps on the rest, so maybe the others were frozen all the way through. This was a hard winter on hatching eggs.
