Did they change the ordinances? When I got first got chickens in '08 I called and they said no rooster because of the noise. Please point me to the ordinance - I want to know for sure that it's in writing!

As far as I know they are still a no no. I had to re-home 2 "accidental" boys last summer because animal control said I couldn't have them in the city. They came to the house and gave me 5 days to get rid of them or they said they would come take them and write me a citation.

I am the person who submitted the Tulsa info to the BYC Chicken LORE, and at the time I submitted the information roosters were not allowed - I called the City to confirm before I submitted. Unless I wrote the wrong information down, or unless someone else on BYC called the city and got a different answer, they are not allowed - I looked again under the City Ordinances and when I called they said roosters fall under the "Nuisance" category because of the noise.

Just to find out - I PM'd LareePQG to find out if I mistakenly put "Yes" on the Chicken LORE info, or if she called the City and got a different answer from me. I'll let you know what I find out...!

I called the City in 2008 and again in March 2010 and they told me roosters were NOT allowed in the City Limits.

Poco. I don't want to answer for Joe, but here it's better to put only a couple or a trio of birds per selling coop. If you put a bunch in one coop then the price will go down because people may not want or be able to afford a wholevcoop full.
If you have extra Roos you can make pairs or trios.that's a good way to get good for price for an extra roo! Always put a good hen with the worst roo.they will pay more for the good hen and have to pay the same for the roo!
Robin I think someone put a curse on that car! Lol
