Debating about having the kids do a meatbird project for their 4-H books this year. Their exhibition bird expenses are too hard to keep track of, so I gave up. Okay, I'm more afraid of what the results would be, so better to just not know for sure.

I think the meaties would be easier, especially if they get it all on 1 receipt. Through Mar 13th Orscheln's has CX chicks for $1.57 and 40lb bags starter/grower for $8.99. They give a 10% discount for 4-H projects. If they did a small batch, say 10 maybe, how many bags of feed should they get? Everything I'm seeing I'm guessing around 3 birds/bag. So they should get 4 bags????



Had another hatch due today that looks like another bust. Going to have to do eggtopsies on this one. Just don't know what we're doing wrong.

Afternoon, Okies: I spent part of the morning freezing my petunias off waiting for my birds to sell at Chupps. Joe, you're a genius. I hope you got what you were wanting for your birds. I think your bright orange 3 X 5 cards are magic. I got more than I expected for everything I sold. It was a good (but freezing) morning.
