Most recent hatch of Black Australorps, Barred Rock, and White Rock has been successful. Out of four dozen set, only six are left. I'm going to give them one more day before I toss them.

Don't remember if I posted about the swap at Kellyville. Got to meet some great folks. I'll post pictures and directions after work. Sold all my hens and pullets within the first hour. The rest sold at a steady pace. Only came home with four ducks and two roosters. Chris, the guy running the swap, is doing a great job. He apologized for there not being as many people at the second swap meeting as at the first. Maybe they will advertise more for the May swaps. I'm planning to go back in May. Lots of folks wanted hens or pullets but arrived late. They promised to get there early so they can be first in line.

I finally won some polish eggs off of ebay yesterday. Hopefully I will hatch enough to get a qaud or so. They are supposed to be mostly golden laced with some silver laced and some others. It sure would be cool if I hatched enough to get golden and silver.

I think I have about talked myself out of the turkeys. I feel like I already have to many chickens and dont want to get myself tied down to where I cant ever leave home. Ive got feeder's and nipple waterer's set up now that allow me to stay gone awhile, but my flock is about to outgrow it. Going to have to get busy and expand a little. My dad built a small building a few years back out of 2 trampoline frames and has given it to me. Ive got to get it moved and convert it into a coupe. I am going to put it on some other land that bought a few years ago. I keep my cows there and check on them most days anyway. I live in a subdivision in the country and dont really want to have a bunch of roosters disturbing my neighbors if I can keep from it.
