You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

What color are your runner ducks? I have two pair of blue runners and 5 chocolate runners. I have eggs in the incubator and hope to have some ducklings at POOPS. We love them because they run around in groups and are fun to watch. I don't try to "tame" my poultry so don't know about getting them to sit in your lap. Anytime we catch them for some reason, they practically vibrate until you put them down. Some of the ducks have green bills and some have light orange bills. The color of the runner doesn't seem to correlate to the bill color.

Have to share a pic of my "pride and joy":

i usually 'sex' my own chickens when i buy them at the feed store. i do pretty well. the original 8 we bought last year i told dh that one will be a rooster, and another might be but the rest are hens... I was right. we got two roosters (it's hard to explain how i do it, but it has a lot to do with the combs, my grandpa told me how to do it a looong time ago)... well i did it the same way with this one, but i think she's a he... what do you all think? he struts a lot for a hen and tries to get really friendly with the others... i hope it's a hen, but now betting it's a rooster

Sorry to ask you this question again, Betsy, because you answered me once already, but do you know if you will you have any fancy-colored guinea hatching eggs at POOPS?

I don't plan to have hatching eggs there. So far, I don't sell hatching eggs.

Okay - thank you Betsy!

Good evening,
Had 24 chicks hatch at Jack's yesterday and today. So far this year (my first year) I have had 40 mille fleur cochin chicks and 9 partrige cochin chicks hatch. I have 20 more due to hatch May first. I think that is ENOUGH mille fleurs and partridges for now. Now my self-blues are starting to lay. The pullets are in with a nice black roo and the roos are in with a nice black pullet so the first chicks will be black. This project is giong to be slow.
How do you all who hatch more breeds than I do keep track of all of them? I have a calendar all marked up and a "chicken diary" to just track my pairings and hatches.

Five. Like I needed a reason to get chicks. Seriously, I won't have room for them. But dang it, they are kind of cute when they're only a day old...I got a black, two buffs, a partridge (I think - it's chocolate-colored), and one that I don't know what it will look like.

I blame NNbreeder. If he didn't talk them up so much I wouldn't know so much about them - all of these have bowties and look like cute little Donald Trumps.

we make our own syrup- 1 c sugar to 4 c water- and one feeder we put a good distance from the others to feed the bees- and wasps- sometimes it works, they go over there with a few strays every now and then at the other feeders
