Good evening everyone, WoW! Mj, you are gonna be considered a hatchery before long. Keep up the good work. Your new pens look great.
I am pleased to say that I was able to get some modern game birds from Got Game. Thanks Got Game for the Modern Games.
Plans to pick up some new blue and black ameraucanas tommorow. Excited about that.

nice , that looks great ..... you will totally enjoy that coop as well as the birds
They are enjoying not having to share with the chickens and now, since they are away from the driveway, they will stop screaming at the trash truck and the UPS man and every other unsuspecting motorist that happens to drive by.
believe it or not, i really miss the scream of my mom's peacock, and the guinea's as well
i can't talk DH into getting a few... he says we're pushing our luck with the two roosters.
btw, DH said that we really need to get rid of spot. said not to worry about selling him, just give him to someone that needs/wants him. recap: he is aggressive (not so much when there is PLENTY of scratch and food (meaning food has to be full and a bit of scratch). he has taken the feathers off the back of 3 of my hens. he's aggressive towards my other rooster (we only have 7 hens, now... plus 10 of the hatchlings we're gonna keep, but he's just too aggressive). he's not as bad towards men as he is women. it's getting to the point my 9yodd is scared to go in the yard on her own. I'm not sure why he's like this. i hand feed him, because i was really sure he was gonna be my rooster. i have never had an aggressive rooster (we had 6 of them when i was a kid). here's a pic of him:
he's just over a year old, we bought him at Atwood last season (in late February).

He has a pretty comb.
Around my house, you have to either be nice or be tasty. Have you tried flying lessons for him? Like across the yard and launched with your boot? That is the first "lesson" I give roosters to try and adjust their attitude.
