I planted one bag each of the $3.00 bag of seed potato at walmart of the yukon gold and cal white, then about 4 potatoes each in the other two that were just left over eating potatoes russet.
The rest of the answers I don't know yet, this is my first year to attempt this. I have heard you can get huge amounts per tower, and that in a growing season here you can get 4-5 tires tall.

Micheal you sold some birds to a real good buddy of mine the other weekend at Mary's...you might remember him about your build and kinda whistles when he talks...sold him a game cock. got caught up just in time for bed... i hope to sleep tonight. i got me some cough stuff to help with that. tried really hard to give a few of my month old chicks to a gal i've known for years and years. she said she doesn't have the room (her yard is three times the size of mine lol) and her dh wouldn't let her have them in town. so i settled with her being my first egg buyer lol. says she goes through 2 dozen a week... anywho, off to bed i must go. hope everyone has a good night and sleeps well.
