I planted one bag each of the $3.00 bag of seed potato at walmart of the yukon gold and cal white, then about 4 potatoes each in the other two that were just left over eating potatoes russet.
The rest of the answers I don't know yet, this is my first year to attempt this. I have heard you can get huge amounts per tower, and that in a growing season here you can get 4-5 tires tall.

so around 4-5 seed taters per tower right. and what is the ratio of dirt, leaves, straw mixture per tower. Ok cool I have to make a dump run with my big trailer on friday to dump jobsite junk so I may pick up a whole bunch. I was thinking earlier of putting several 2 tire high planters with squash, cucumbers, and such out near the chicken coop condo to feed chickens with, so that may work this year after all.

Mike have you heard from Modernman, I heard he was ok, I know the parents of the kid that was riding in the truck that hit his.

I finally got to start the coop and pen for my Orpingtons, hopefully it will be finished this weekend, my birds need to come home. My brother is keeping all the eggs the hen lays, I think my sister in law wants some Black Orps. now after mine have been at their house.

Catuse, you can cut some of the tires down the center of the treads and make waterers from them.
