I just posted some pics in the breed/gender forum. I think out of our eight, we have at least two roos.

Which stinks b/c we can't keep them. I have a friend who might be able to take them but I think she would be butchering them. So if anyone wants a couple to raise.......

i was surprised she was so unaware she now had a hole in her foot! would rough roosts do that?

Yes for sure, when they jockey for position at night they kinda scoot and shuffle from side to side trying to get the best spot. And if your roost are rough or in bad shape this can happen especialy when their feet are wet or moist. That's why everybody recommends rounding the roost edges.

hmmm...rounding the edges? like sanding? should they be painted too?? we just used wood we had on hand- so they are rough
