Greetings Mr. Al. I am actually about to get off the computer and head to bed early. I've had a long day.
Poco Pollo came over this evening and brought two Pekin ducks for our Special Olympics video tomorrow. Then she helped me catch some chicks I think might be male and she traded me a couple of pullets.
Thanks Poco for reassuring me about the Speckled Sussex chicks - so happy they are both pullets. The two new ones are already settled in and eating and drinking. When everyone went to bed for the night, the big black Ameraucana and the two Speckies were in the hutch with the six older pullets. So the little black, little splash and the two "new" pullets were in the other hutch. You'll be happy to know I emptied out and cleaned those slide out dropping trays in the hutches after you left - I'm sorry you saw the deplorable conditions of my grow out pen - how embarrassing!
Thanks to everyone who is praying for and sending good thoughts toward my dad Tom. We put him on Hospice care yesterday. He is having moments of clarity and humor as well as the exhausted "out of it" times, which is to be expected. He has a wonderful primary care physician, and my brother and I left TX relieved and with the belief he has excellent care. Tom's older children began coming today, and I'm so glad they'll have time to spend with their daddy. Anyway- thank you all again. You are a wonderful community of extended family to me, and I am thankful for you.
