I was at the store in Shawnee today and they have chicks...straight run RIR, Cornish white, Australorps and a pen of pullets RIR and what they call wyandottes look like barred rocks with the white dot on the head.
Atwoods got in 100 black chipmonk looking chicks from Ideal ...they don't know what they are. Also had a crowded bin of straight run and a bin of banties. And a bin of pullets.
Did they have a sign somewhere that said Wyandotte or RIR? Or did you talk to someone? The only breeds I saw identified were the cornish and the astrolorps.
On the left side of the pullet bin they had a sign showcasing Wyandotte...the chicks did not look wyandotte .There were yellow chicks and the black and cream with the dots. The pullet sign was on the right end of the bin.
The straight run chicks in one bin looked to be a full week old....must have been left over from Easter.
