My elementary school had a batch of chicks. I happened to be standing in the right place an with s parent who volunteered to give me their 4x8 temporary/portable pen. I had raised chickens for 4-H when I was a young lad so it was not scary. 4 weeks later I am enjoying my small flock (13) and building a coup. I have a lot of leaves so the concept of having my compost pile in the run and letting them do my turning is very appealing!
