So how is everyone surviving todays storms and flooding? Not every day we get a tropical depression in Oklahoma. Almost eighht inches of rain here. Some parts of the state had sustained 50 plus mph winds for over four hours. Weathermen basically said a tropical depresion reformed from remnanats of TD Erin.
Flooding statewide, two dead and three missing.
I hope my backyard chicken friends from Oklahoma are all safe and OK. Pray for our state as we recover. Also I hope no one had any livestock losses I lost my big beautiful Blue Andalusian in the storm. I think he must have been blown off his perch and then basically either drowned or died of hypothermia. Hope and pray everyone is well.

Hey Monty, Sorry to hear that about your bird

We are finally getting some much needed rain here in SW MO. My birds weren't sure what to make of it? I have a couple of friends in Chickasha, hope things calm down for you all soon. Take care.

Sorry bout your bird...i hate loosing my feather freinds..

I'm lucky, i live way up on the hill over looking the town 15 miles away, its never flooded here.My rain collector was over 6" over flowing...dont think there was any bad flooding in town.I hope the bridges are still in place. :|

Eight inches of rain! That is just about a years worth of rain for Arizona.

And about the lost bird, I suspect he will come home in time.

Good Luck

The Chickasha area was hit very hard. Just west of there they got about ten inches of rain in a few hours. Five dead and many many rescued from vehicles and rooftops in the state. They showed the radar picture and it looked just like when they show a tropical depression or hurricane on radar. It had a clearly defined eye. Some parts of the state had sustained winds 50 to 80 mph for several hours straight. The weather people are calling it a metorlogical phenomenon.
As for the rain, we have had a record year. After three years of drought, we are almost up to 50 inches for the year. Many area have had more than the "official" total.
Last year, I think we had a littler around 20 inches for the year and a lot of that came in the fall and early winter after the growing season had passed.
We had had like two straight weeks of near 100 or over 100 temps, then Saturday we got hammered by this huge storm.
Glad to hear my fellow Okies are doing Ok. I hope those folks that need rain get some but not as much as we got, at least not all at once.

Thanks for the update Monty, I shot them an email it see if they made it through the storms ok. And I must say, WOW, about the weather.

There is a lot of flooding in the Chickahsa area. Also a lot of roads and bridges washed out. I hope all is well with your friends.

Just checking with my fellow Oklahomans to see how high the water is in their areas. I know a lot of the rivers are cresting today. In Jones where Okiechick57 lives, the river was supposed to crest this morning. Some major flooding was expected. How is the river out by Tuttle? Hope all are well.
