Ol' Hawiian trick to sexing 3 week olds

I have heard this same trick explained several times in the short time I have been a member, and it just sounds strange to me. A lot of other members seem to scoff at this working as well. Probably is an old wives' tale, but I do like the idea of an experiment!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Kinda thought it was perhaps a wives tale when she explained it. I'd be afaid to try it let alone there is no telling when we will have 3 week olds again. None the less, if anyone tries this I'd love to hear about results.

I have heard one simular, take the chick and turn it over on its back in front of your waist. With the stomach facing up- if it pulls the feet up towards the body it is a hen, if the legs stick straight out its a roo, but if you get one leg up and one down- its your guess!
