Old barn maybe turned New chicken coop?

This is the 80+ year old barn that's on our property. These are only 2 sides of it, as I can't get to the rest due to heavy growth.
It would defiantly need some fixing, the roof needs to be nailed back into place and there are 2 holes on one side that need some new boards. The inside is dirt floor, the foundation is rock. In the inside there are 2 areas, one is small and the other is larger, there is also a loft. I'll try to get some better pictures, maybe some of the inside too.
I think it has a lot of potential to be a great chicken coop, and huge!


What do you guys think?








There are 2 doors ^^ the small squareish one on the right goes into the small area on the inside, and the taller door on the left goes to the larger area with the loft.



The right corner of the barn in this pic has a large hole in it. And from storms last year the tin from the roof has flapped over to the other side. But that looks like a great window to me!

It will take a lot of work but might well be worth it. I'd remove the closest bushes or whatever they are to see what I had. If ther are trees you can keep to keep it in the shade, that would be great. You might find it would work best to tear some of it down and use the material to repair/renovate the rest. Lots of folks (including me) prefer a dirt floor with deep litter; it's by far the easiest to care for. And in this climate, you might want to replace part of a wall or two with hardware cloth for good air flow. You will need plenty of air movement to be sure it is not hotter in there than the outdoor temp.

I would think that would make an awesome coop! If you are going for the weathered look, I would leave the outside alone except for predator proofing and then add some support to the inside if the structure isn't very strong any more. Looks pretty frail, but that's a cool look.
