Got this on CL for $50...added a pop door, replaced the plexiglass w/wire for now, added a roost, and built a stand for it. Half of the roof is hinged and lifts up for cleaning. Made a nice temporary coop for two pullets I'd purchased. Mine is on the small side (@ 36" x 36"), but I figure I'll sell it for someone to keep 2-3 bantams in now that I'm done with it.
But I see lots of bigger dog houses on CL all the time. For the breeds you're considering, I'd only keep three in a 3x4... The little windows in mine worked out great...be sure to add ventilation and a door large enough for you to access for cleaning...
