I have an old drake Khaki or cross not sure. He has to be at least 8 to 10 yrs old. He has been alone for the last several years. His drake buddy past. I was thinking about getting a duck pekin adult friend for him. Should I or leave well enough alone?
What are the chances of them bonding to each other? Are female pekin ducks noisy? He has goat buddies.

Aww, congrats on giving him a home for so long. I think it would be very kind of you to give him a girlfriend in his old age. Gotta make the golden years count, right? I think the noise level varies a lot from bird to bird, because I've read mixed reviews about every breed. A Pekin would probably be good for him though because they're on the calm side and might better match his energy level. If you got two females you wouldn't have to worry about the same loneliness problem when he passed and you'd have a lot of delicious duck eggs, too.

What a cutie! I'd likely lean towards two ducks, maybe 3? Just to give decent ratios plus the ducks companionship shall he pass on. I know nothing about pekin, I do know they quack a fair bit but don't know if that would be constant, I only have Muscovy right now, and they rarely quack.. And the drakes never do.
